Aikawa Development Policy

We are committed to developing products and technologies that utilize the regional resources of Toyama. With the aim of creating products that can compete on a global scale, we strive to conduct all processes, from raw material sourcing to manufacturing, within Toyama (Hokuriku), operating under the motto “From Toyama to the World.” We are continually exploring initiatives rooted in the region and are advancing various research projects to contribute to the revitalization of Toyama Prefecture’s rural and mountainous areas through technology and products developed using local resources.

Contributing to the Local Community Through Development

Aikawa Co., Ltd. was established in Toyama Prefecture in 1992, and for over 30 years, we have carried out our business with deep gratitude to our home region. While the population decline in Japan is a widely recognized issue, Toyama Prefecture is one of the regions most severely affected by this trend, and we anticipate that the resulting changes in industrial structures will accelerate. In this context, we are continually considering what we can do for Toyama Prefecture.

Toyama is a prefecture blessed with abundant natural resources, surrounded by the Sea of Japan to the north and mountain ranges on the other three sides. However, it ranks 44th among Japan’s prefectures in terms of the number of people employed in primary industries, indicating that these rich resources are underutilized. To better harness this natural wealth and bolster the local community, we are researching the potential for creating new businesses in rural and mountainous areas that could complement agriculture. While our efforts are still in the early stages, we hope that these small initiatives will eventually contribute to solving Toyama Prefecture’s challenges.
